Student Life

Student Life at Southpointe: Welcoming, Inspiring, Fun, and Inclusive

Student life at Southpointe fosters friendships, celebrates milestones, and creates meaningful opportunities for students to connect across all grades. Relationship-building begins the moment we welcome new families through our Buddy Programme and continues throughout each school year.

Connections are strengthened through cherished traditions such as our Kindergarten & Grade 12 buddy program, Grade 1 & Grade 10 reading partners, Grade 5 recess leaders, and the Southpointe Island Program.

Through the Island Program, every student and staff member from Kindergarten to Grade 12 is assigned to an Island Team, promoting camaraderie, school spirit, leadership, and teamwork across all age groups.

We actively encourage students to participate in a wide range of clubs, activities, and service-learning opportunities. By the time they graduate, Southpointe students are kind, responsible citizens—connected members of the Southpointe community for life.

Prefects & Student Council

Being selected as a Prefect is considered the pinnacle of student leadership at Southpointe. Prefects lead the student representatives who make up the Student Councils for Grades 6–9 and Grades 10–12, and they work closely with the two Student Life Coordinators representing the Junior School and the Middle & Senior School.

Prefects play a vital role in enriching school and student life by providing leadership, speaking at ceremonies, and organizing various events such as student dances and school-wide initiatives. They also support the daily operations of the school by assisting faculty, staff, and students, performing duties, supervising activities, upholding standards, and setting a positive example for their peers.
