INQUIRE NOW

Post-secondary goals of our Middle and Senior School students are supported by our University Counselling Department, which begins working with students and parents in Grade 9 and continues through to Graduation.

Grade 9 - Southpointe provides its students with a wealth of resources and support to successfully navigate the university application process. Starting in Grade 9, our University Counsellor meets with each student and their family to begin the conversation around various post-secondary pathways and areas of interest.

Grade 10 - Students are asked to begin thinking about future course planning and how it will relate to their preferred educational pathway. In-person school presentations from visiting university admissions officers are coordinated through our University Counsellor along with personalized course planning sessions for students and parents.

Grade 11 - Building on previous conversations, various post-secondary pathways are discussed while also taking into consideration additional aspects of interest such as a school’s location, athletic opportunities, co-ops, and more. This is also when students are prepared for the Grade 12 application season, including deadlines and requirements for scholarships for both national and international schools.

Grade 12 - One on one support is provided on an ongoing basis to help with the application process and scholarship deadlines, including assistance with personal profiles and supplemental application forms. Students receive curated access to several scholarships, instruction in writing personal statements, and support with compiling references.
