An Incredible Opportunity for Your Child to Receive a World-Class Education

Southpointe Academy is excited to announce scholarship opportunities for local students entering Grade 10 or Grade 11 to join our world-leading International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum school.

As a recipient of the South Delta Scholarship, students will experience the IB Diploma Programme, with scholarships available for either a 2-year or 3-year term, depending on whether they enter in Grade 10 or Grade 11. The scholarship covers the student’s costs for Grades 10, 11, and 12 (based on the entry year).

In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, students will have access to unique co-curricular activities, leadership opportunities, and a welcoming school community. Our small class sizes, exceptional teaching faculty, and dedicated University Counsellor ensure that each student is well-supported in achieving their post-secondary goals.

Named Scholarship - Bill Ross South Delta Regional Scholarship

In honour of Bill Ross and his legacy within South Delta and Southpointe Academy, we proudly offer a named scholarship to an incoming local student entering Grade 10 or 11 who demonstrates excellence in academics, character, and citizenship.

Bill Ross was a longtime South Delta resident, former Southpointe Board member and Southpointe parent. Bill devoted his life to the service of others, believing in the importance of commitment to one’s community, without any expectation of reward or recognition. To give back to the community, strengthen the connections and role Southpointe has with South Delta, and honour the legacy of Bill Ross, Southpointe Academy offers a scholarship for an outstanding student entering Grade 10 or 11 from the South Delta area.

Eligibility Criteria

Be an outstanding secondary student who meets the school’s academic standards for admission to Grade 10 or 11 and embodies qualities of character, integrity and respect.
Has demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas: arts, athletics or community service.
Willingness to become involved in the school community and contribute to co-curricular activities and programs.
Commit to remain enrolled at Southpointe Academy for Grades 10, 11 and 12.
Be a non-Southpointe student who resides in South Delta (Tsawwassen, Ladner or Point Roberts)

Selection Process

Eligibility based on financial needs and academic qualification.
Financial needs will based on a submitted assessment.
The successful applicant and their parents will be asked to consent to the school publishing the applicant’s name as the scholarship recipient in internal and external publications.
The Selection Committee will have absolute discretion in awarding the scholarship.

Scholarship applicants will need to first complete an online application for Grade 10 or 11. Please contact our Admissions Team regarding waiving the application fee cost at admissions@southpointe.ca.

Required Additional Documents
In addition to the online application form, scholarship applicants must email our Admissions Team the following information to meet our scholarship applicant criteria.

Resume (1-page maximum);
Letter of Recommendation or Reference Letter (2 maximum);
Grade 8 Final Report Card and Grade 9 Final Report Card or Grade 9 Mid-year/Term 2 Report Card;
Statement of Interest - Topic: Why Southpointe Academy? (500-words maximum);
Evidence of other attributes such as creativity, innovation, initiative, motivation, leadership, cooperation, and good citizenship in school and the greater community.
