Application and Fee Schedule

Student Intake

Given the high demand for admission, offers of enrolment are highly competitive. Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 6 are the main points of entry at Southpointe Academy. We accept applications at all levels, but as our classes are capped at 24 students between Grades 6 and 12, space is not guaranteed.

STEP 1: Download an Application Form

The following documents must be submitted before an application will be considered:
  • Copies of the applicant’s school reports for both the current and previous year.
  • For Grades 10 to 12, copies of reports for each grade of high school completed.
  • Up to two academic or personal letters of reference. A photocopy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport.
  • One (1) passport-sized photograph.
  • A non-refundable and non-transferable application fee (see page below) of $400 for domestic and $700 for international students, may be paid via cash or cheque to 'Southpointe Academy

Application deadline for 2020-2021 is Friday, November 29, 2019 for all Grades.

STEP 2: Plan a Visit

  • A tour of our school is the best way to determine whether Southpointe Academy feels like the right fit for your child. To schedule a tour, please email our Admission’s Office at or call us at 604-948-8826.
  • Alternatively, we invite you to join us at our Open Houses.  Our Open House season is in October and November.  

STEP 3: Schedule an Entrance Assessment

  • All candidates are required to undergo an entrance assessment to determine their suitability for our school’s program. In Kindergarten, the assessment is used to establish whether the student is ready for the program.
  • Upon receiving your application, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule an assessment date.
  • Our assessments are completed in January.

STEP 4: Student & Family Interview

  • Following the reception of all necessary documents and the completion of an entrance assessment, selected candidates and their families will be contacted to arrange an interview with one of our administrators. Both parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to attend.
  • The aim of this interview is to ascertain whether the candidate and his or her family are congruent with our mission and core values.

STEP 5: Admission Decisions

  • Applicants will be contacted regarding the admissions decision shortly after their interview.
    • Once an applicant has been accepted, a notification of placement will be offered.
    • Parents of an applicant for immediate entry will be notified via telephone.
    • If the desired grade level is full, the accepted student will be placed on the waiting list.
  • In order for an accepted student’s place to be held, a deposit fee is required.
  • For students accepted for immediate entry, full payment of applicable fees, including the tuition fee on a prorated basis, is required prior to enrolment. 

Additional Admissions Information

  • Students who do not qualify for the BC Government grant are assessed an additional fee of $2,900 in lieu of the grant.
  • International student fees are due and payable by August 31, 2019.
  • All tuition payments must be made by cheque or credit card. Cash will not be accepted.
  • All deposits are non-refundable.
  • Interest at 3% per month will be charged on all overdue balances.

  • Fees are due upon receipt of invoice, with interest charged after 30 days.
  • Fees are non-refundable and requests for pro-rated tuition charges cannot be granted.
  • Tuition is payable via cheque

New Family Fee

New Family Fee: $3,500 per family.

This one-time fee is payable only by families new to the School. It is designed as the new family’s share of the resources and demonstrates a commitment to Southpointe Academy.


Southpointe Bond

Southpointe Bond (one-time only): All families enrolling children in Grades 2-12 will be required to purchase a one-time $25,000 Southpointe Academy Bond. This Bond is each family’s way of participating in the Society’s capital requirements, e.g. the School building.

All families enrolling a child in K-1 will be required to place a $15,000 one-time Education Investment Deposit. This Deposit will be used for the Society’s ongoing operational or capital requirements.

Outdoor Education Fee

Grade 4-5: $275 CAD per student

Grade 6-10: $500 CAD per student

This fee is for the Project Discover Program, Southpointe Academy’s outdoor education program. The fee is an equitable distribution of the program costs and enables participation. This fee is mandatory and will not be refunded should your child not participate for any reason.

Grade 11 Service Week

Grade 11 Service Week: $100 per student

Grade 11 students participate in Service Week, a special program in which the students volunteer in the community with a variety of nonprofit organizations. Fees charged reflect transportation and other incidental costs associated with working with the nonprofit partners.

Grade 12 Grad Retreat

Grade 12 Grad Retreat: $500 per student

Grade 12 students leave campus for this AP Capstone event to set goals for their Grade 12 year, plan for the university, and participate in outdoor education.


Graduation Fee

Graduation Fee (for Grade 12 students only): $350 per student

After School Care Fee

After School Care Fee: $5 per hour (or portion thereof)

Bus Fees

Bus Fees: $700-$1,500 per student

This range represents the varying costs depending on which bus route is taken. A $200 non-refundable deposit is required. This fee applies only to those students using the Southpointe Academy Bus service.


Uniforms: $400-$800 per student

Southpointe uniforms are supplied, priced and purchased directly by families from Top Ten Schoolwear.

Sibling Discount

Sibling Deposit: The sibling discount only applies to tuition fees and is applied to the second and subsequent sibling(s) in birth order.

Second sibling: 5% discount
Third sibling: 10% discount
Fourth sibling: 15% discount

Refund Policy

The school's budget is based on enrolment numbers prior to the start of the academic year. At the same time, financial commitments are made to school employees and expenditures incurred on facilities, instructional materials and supplies to operate the school. As a result, all deposits are non-refundable. Should you withdraw your child after July 31, 2019, the remaining tuition balance will become due and payable immediately. 

Financial Aid

Financial Aid: Southpointe Academy provides a modest bursary program designed to assist current families in need of temporary assistance. Bursary Application Forms must be submitted to the Head of School by April 30 annually. For more information about the bursary program, please contact our Financial Controller.
